This thought can be taken at least two ways and both are correct.
Indeed, though more specifically ID is the embodiment of the argument from personal incredulity. I can’t see how X could evolve, therefore designer. praise Jesus!
I don’t think the issue is one of evolution, its one of initial appearance. Of course you can find people to support any viewpoint, but its not how A evolved into B and so on to X, but where did A come from to begin with.
You need to go further back to the very beginning (we think) of time and space (maybe) to make whether there is a creator or not matter. I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that the universe was created or guided somehow and life was an unintended event.
On a similar topic, the beginning, I read an article today talking about the possibility of our universe existing inside a black hole? I can’t find it now, I’ll keep looking.
