Thought of the day

As it turns out, the back bumper of a Ford F150 is way stronger than the hood of my Honda Accord.

  1. Well we be seeing a post on the dynamics of the accordion fold anytime soon?

  2. Occifer, even though no one was in the truck, it jumped up and backed into me. I swear! Hic!

  3. But that’s only because you have super-trendy ultra-modern “crumple zones”, and the lame F150 is just a big boorish hunk of unevolved metal.

  4. I don’t know how trendy by 17 year old vehicle is, but the hood was only slightly bent and the casing for the blinker/parking light was loose. I was going to take it to a mechanic I know, but a friend of a friend was able to bend things back in place and screw the casing back tight. Good enough for me.

Plus the other driver isn’t going to make an insurance claim. I win twice.

  5. I used to drive a ’93 Silverado, and a guy ran into my backend. His front end was demolished, while all I had was some paint chips on the bumper.

The poor guy was mentally slow, and was far more concerned about being late for work than about his now incapacitated vehicle. So, I drove him to work, and tried to explain to his boss what happened, but it seemed like the guy was screwed no matter what. His boss( and I, come to think of it) was lucky I hadn’t been drinking, for once, as I’d have had to beat his uncaring ass.
