Thought of the day

Religion breeds hostility towards science.

  1. It often also breeds hostility towards outgroups.

  2. Is science sacred? Is it perfect?

Cats breed hostility toward dogs! Oh noes! Get rid of cats! No no, if you don’t like cats you simply don’t get one and you leave other peoples alone.

  3. Is science sacred? Is it perfect?

What does that have to do with Michael’s post?

    Cats breed hostility toward dogs!

No they don’t. Many cats and many dogs are happy with each other.

Sometimes I think you post pure garbage nonsense on purpose just to antagonize.

  4. Hostility should exist toward anything short of being perfect. If science is not perfect then it should experience some hostility, otherwise complacency is a serious risk.

As with dogs and cats, many Christians are happy to coexist with atheists and many atheists are happy to do the opposite, but some, on both sides, are nothing but rabble rousers, seeking nothing but philosophical warfare.

I KNOW your posts seek nothing but antagonism. Unfortunately for you they don’t elicit the response you would like to see. My apologies.

  5. Hostility should exist toward anything short of being perfect.

That is the the stupidest comment of the week. I guess if you believe that, you are not being very ‘Christian’.

  6. You must not be counting any of your own comments in the race for “the stupidest”. Since most of your commenting consists of nothing more than attacks or head nodding.

  7. That is the difference between us, Nate. I targeted a specific comment, you just sling general nasty personal attacks. Michael explained all that to you in the past. I guess you still are too incompetent to comprehend.

If you can’t be specific then you need to shut up.

  8. How nice of you to say so.
