I can’t believe that Mitt Romney is going to get over 40% of the vote, much less close to 50%. Aside from the day to day (and sometimes same day) shifts on position, he hardly even appeals to the Republican base. He strikes me as the most pointless presidential candidate I can remember in my lifetime.

Keep in mind that the Republicans are not voting FOR Mitt Romney; they’re simply voting AGAINST Obama, and they don’t much care whose name is actually on the ticket. The Republicans could’ve nominated Severus Snape for all the difference it makes.
I used to not feel this way. I actually thought the number of absolute racists in the country was a small number. But I, as a male WASP (and no longer P) say it here: the Republicans are voting Romney because Romney does not have a natural tan.
This is true, but I don’t think they are voting against Obama just because he’s black. The conservative media has made quite the hyperbolic/slanderous case that Obama intends to turn America into communist Russia. I think people are less racist and more gullible.
Snape turned out to be a good guy, remember? Might want to work on that one, copyleft.
