Bill O’Reilly made a massive ass of himself last month when he said no one could explain the tides. He was trying to put forth the argument from design or maybe an argument for a fine-tuned Universe, but he was unable to articulate his position. He then went and made things worse (but more hilarious) with this:
As a result, there’s a new meme.

Well he does do a poor job of saying what he is trying to say, but I think his point is:
The universe is so “orderly” that he thinks it takes more faith to believe it’s only by chance than it does to believe that it’s designed.
But that is just as wrong to say. The universe is not orderly. Also, science knowledge is not ‘faith’. Faith is the phenomenon of belief without evidence or belief in spite of evidence. That line “takes more faith …” is just another old canard that has been discredited over and over. Its what fundies say when they know they have no legitimate argument.
Whatever. Adhering completely to a set of ‘laws’ isn’t orderly?
Bill O’Riley…. You can’t explain that… Crap goes in, crap comes out
