Thought of the day

I have yet to see a good argument for God in the 21st century. There were arguments that worked when we didn’t have the same facts we have now, but ever since the Enlightenment every argument for God has been a radical failure. I mean, it’s ridiculous. I hardly believe that theists are even trying at this point.

  1. They keep trying because they need the father figure, fear death and are in need to be told what to do and how to be good. In other words they have not grown up in adulthood.

  2. There will always be those who hold a belief in a supreme being. as long as the mystery of our origins remain (i.e. of life itself, the universe, parallel universes, etc ). Our quest of pursuing the ultimate will always, for many, result in a belief in a God.
I agree, there are no good arguements remaining but am bouyed by the fact statistics show Atheism is gowing faster than religion in America. It has already taken over most of Europe. The arguements are working.

  3. As far as believing in a god – people should always feel free to do so. It is when they try to force their dogma upon others, particularly in laws, that they need to be stomped.
