Darwin:
A moral being is one who is capable of reflecting on his past actions and their motives – of approving of some and disapproving of others.
Einstein:
I do not believe in immortality of the individual, and I consider ethics to be an exclusively human concern with no superhuman authority behind it.
It seems so eminently fitting to me that two of the greatest scientists to have ever lived have such enlightened views on just what morality is.
