One of the members of my Kilimanjaro group took some video of the trip and edited a few things together for YouTube. With his permission (which I figured I’d get since the video isn’t available in a public search) I present it to you. (In case you think I’m worth trying to see, I don’t make much of an appearance.)
My entire trip to Tanzania and up Kilimanjaro was amazing. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people than the one I got. The guides are incredible, the porters are ridiculous in their speed and strength. I’m still sorting everything out, both physically and mentally, so I haven’t much more for right now. Until later…
While in Tanzania, Arusha National Park will be near where I’m staying when I’m not on Kilimanjaro. It’s a park known for a good deal of wildlife – the sort of wildlife stereotypical of Africa. (In fact, Tanzania is rife with beautiful wildlife stereotypes.) Unfortunately, I’m not forking over the two grand to take a safari through the area, so I may not see everything I hope to see. I will, however, be driving through Kilimanjaro National Park, so I hope to see all the big beasts of Africa there. Lions, tigers, and…uh, zebras, oh my. But if there’s only one wild animal I get to see, I hope it’s a giraffe.
It doesn’t even seem like a word if you keep saying it. Solution? Better break out the eye candy. (Also, my plane ticket and tour are completely paid off. I just need a little bit more gear and I’m prepared. Oh. And I get to go to Utah in the weeks before hand, so expect some Zion and Bryce eye candy down the road.)
