That’s because it doesn’t go fast enough. I figured that out when I was about 8. It needs to fly down that pole and explode at the bottom.
That’s why I never bothered to watch the ball drop.
The excitement all comes from the group psychology (or mob psychology).
I think the fact that its a drinking holiday has a lot to do with it.
