Thought of the day

I’m sitting here giving quite a bit of thought to something. But I just can’t seem to find the answer. Perhaps FTSOS readers can help:

When has the right-wing ever been right about anything?

  1. After thinking about it, I choose to say the right wing is right about the US federal deficit being too high. Of course, the moderates, progressives and left wing also think it is too high.

The funny thing about it is that the right wing has the majority of the blame for making the deficit too high, and their proposed solution to reducing it is wrong.

But they are right, the deficit is too high.

  2. This is a ridiculous question. If you accept the undertone, that the ‘right’ has been wrong about everything, you’d have to be extremely closed minded.

Even Hitler was right about some things. Modern highways for example.

It’s also a question that just can’t really be answered. When has the left ever been right about anything? You can argue that any proposition given by the ‘left’, and implemented, was less effective than the solution given by the ‘right’ and not tried and vise versa.

‘Right’ is very subjective also. I would like less government intervention in almost everything. That is ‘right’ to me. You, on the other hand, might like the government to intervene more and ensure ‘fairness’, whatever that is.

    Who is right? Who knows.
