The good doctor nails this one:
There is nothing unusual about Governor Rick Perry. Uneducated fools can be found in every country and every period of history, and they are not unknown in high office. What is unusual about today’s Republican party (I disavow the ridiculous ‘GOP’ nickname, because the party of Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt has lately forfeited all claim to be considered ‘grand’) is this: In any other party and in any other country, an individual may occasionally rise to the top in spite of being an uneducated ignoramus. In today’s Republican Party ‘in spite of’ is not the phrase we need. Ignorance and lack of education are positive qualifications, bordering on obligatory. Intellect, knowledge and linguistic mastery are mistrusted by Republican voters, who, when choosing a president, would apparently prefer someone like themselves over someone actually qualified for the job.
Let’s not forget that the likes of Palin, Bachmann, and Cain have also been bandied about as serious options. The Democrats may put out individuals deficient in charisma a la Gore and Kerry, but it is nothing like the Republicans where either stupid or ignorant people consistently rise to prominence. And, of all things, that is actually a point of pride for the party.

If Hitler, Genghis Khan, Saddam Hussein, Benito Mussolini, Josip Broz Tito and Francisco Franco were still alive then they would be valid Republican party candidates.

Right, in the same way that the Democrats would run Mao, Stalin Lenin, Pol Pot and so forth. Foolishness of course.
But tell me, what does any of that have to do with what this post was about? I was under the impression that this post was about a foreigner saying Perry is ignorant. Than Michael seemed to say that democrats don’t run morons like the republicans do, though they sometimes run charisma deficient persons.
Both parties have morons and neither party has a monopoly on stupidity in high office.
What does it have to do with this post ? Perry, Bachmann, Palin, as well as Pawlenty and many other Republican wanna-be candidates are not only ignorant or stupid but also either uncaring or hateful toward the average person and most declare they will run a presidency according to their nonsensical voodoo supernatural disgusting religious dogma making them tyrants.
Right… When you run out of things to shout and scream and stamp about, and put something sensible down, I’ll be happy to discuss it with you. However if you continue to whine about how much dumber republican candidates are than democrats, I see no reason to bother talking about it.
Not only is it not true, it’s just simply the ad hom you claim to hate. “these people are stupid, therefor ____________”. Excellent argument. Wait…
The other bright light of the Republicans and the Tea Party, Michelle Bachmann announced that hurricane Irene was a warning to Washington by God.
I guess God whispered it into her ear. What a fucktard she is.
Another excellent argument.
