For the Sake of Science 
I don’t detect any humor.
College these days is very bland.
As a climber myself, I see a harness and I see cables and in some places ropes that appear to be there for securing yourself to. I don’t see anything actually clipped on to any of them though.
Admittedly, I’m not the best at always tying off when I should but that whole place looked pretty dangerous to me.
Maybe the cables and ropes aren’t there for life support but only as hand rails. Who knows. I like a little danger but really now.
