I would call that a logical fallacy, but that would be insulting the intelligence of a logical fallacy. Without any other facts, the only thing you can say with any certainty is that humans currently share the same planet with crocodiles. With current facts, we know that crocodilians were one of the few clades of reptiles that survived the K-T event, and there were some tiny little mammals running around, maybe a few early early early primates.
