I’m back

And comments are back to normal.

Admin stuff

Comments are being temporarily held for moderation. If I see anything tomorrow I may be able to get to it, but don’t expect any comments to appear until at least Monday night.

Share feature

WordPress finally (at least to my knowledge) has added all those traditional sharing buttons. That means with a mere click or two of your mouse, you can be sharing FTSOS with all your friends. How fortunate for you!

Utah

I’m off to Utah today. I’ve scheduled posts for every day I’ll be gone, but I’m hoping my guest bloggers will pick up some of the slack.

New bloggers

I will be away from a computer for most of August and some of September, instead opting to be near the national parks of Utah and then the biggest mountain in Africa. This means posts will be less frequent. I’m going to schedule a few posts here and there, but it’s unlikely I’ll have enough to fill 25 days worth of absence. (I will be back for a few days between trips.)

What all this means is that I’ve taken steps to add bloggers. I trust they will all have interesting content to add, but I can’t predict how frequently they’ll be adding posts. In an effort to get their feet wet well before I leave, I’ve encouraged them to start making posts as soon as they can. Don’t be surprised when someone who isn’t me starts making posts. I haven’t been hacked.

I’m not sure what names they will all be using, so that will be a surprise. Keep an eye out.

Stats

May is the 5th straight month FTSOS has exceeded 11,000 hits.

Thanks.

Kilimanjaro, Kilimanjaro, Kilimanjaro

It doesn’t even seem like a word if you keep saying it. Solution? Better break out the eye candy. (Also, my plane ticket and tour are completely paid off. I just need a little bit more gear and I’m prepared. Oh. And I get to go to Utah in the weeks before hand, so expect some Zion and Bryce eye candy down the road.)

Extry! Extry!

The March-April edition of Without Apology has arrived.

This month’s publication has a heavy focus on Christopher Maloney and Andreas Moritz, but it also has far kinder articles such as this one about American excess by Kaytlyn Gillis (the actual title for the article was of my less kind choosing).

The distribution for this edition is a little screwy. I usually place it around UMA right after getting it, but the coming week is spring break so it won’t be until around March 29th that I do that. I did, however, make sure to go to Christopher Maloney’s neighborhood. And he actually lucked out a little. In his last email to me, he demanded I never contact him, his neighbors, his family, or his friends. Clearly most of that is ridiculous. Christopher Maloney has no say over whether or not I contact his neighbors or friends. Legally, he has no grounds concerning his family in this regard (bar his own child/children) – though I’m not particularly concerned with them anyway. But as for himself, if he doesn’t want me giving him my paper, that’s fine with me. But I did intend on giving it to his neighborhood, including his immediate neighbors. Unfortunately – and here’s where luck steps in for him – I could only see the number on one house (#6) since it was dark, so I didn’t give the paper to the houses on either side of it (Maloney is #4). Of course, if he wants a copy, he need only walk across the street or wait a week and head on over to UMA.

Enjoy the articles.

Comments

I have had comments set to allow for nesting. That means it is possible to click “reply” below a given comment and leave another comment, this time having it indent so as to indicate a response. I hate this. I only have it because when I transferred everything to my other blog, that was a default setting and then people used it like crazy when I was getting a ton of hits. Now that that is all over, I am switching everything back. This will result in some funky looking responses in a few places.

Arbitrary number celebration!

For the Sake of Science has reached 100,000 hits. Yay several zeros! Here’s the proof.

Of course, a creationist would point out that I never actually saw “100,000”, so there’s no way I can say I ever hit that number. I mean, maybe the stat tracker had an error, right? Really, this whole post is just faith. According to creationist logic.

Anyway.
