The whole Jew zombie, Jesus thing is predicated on sin which was caused by Adam and Eve. This presents a massive problem for those reasonable enough to know that neither Adam nor Eve ever existed but who are just irrational enough to still believe a zombie/god/man died because of the actions of Adam and Eve.

Even worse, the equation of Adam and Eve’s expulsion from Eden with Their committing a sin comes from a misunderstanding of that particular Genesis tale. You get right down to it, it’s a coming of age tale.
Then too, the story shows Adam and Eve as being incredibly naive. Going by memory God does expressly say that if the two eat of the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil they would must surely die. So when The Serpent (not Satan, that’s somebody else) tells Eve that surely God did not say what God did say, then either The Serpent is lying, or he does not know what God said. Let’s be kind to The Dragon as say he doesn’t know what God said to Adam and Eve about the tree in question.
And what does Eve do? She either forgets what she was told, or she decides to think that God didn’t really mean what He meant. In short, Adam and Eve throughout this part of the story act like kids. Easily confused kids who act spontaneously with no real thought given to what they are doing. Even more succinctly, they act like innocent incapable of understanding the consequences of their actions. What it comes down to is, even if Adam and Eve had existed for real they could not be held accountable for their behavior, and so could not have sinned.
Also note that God doesn’t exactly punish them, He lays down the facts of life to them. They are now going to be facing adult challenges, because now, as adults, they have to take care of themselves. They have to provide their own food, their own clothing, their own shelter. God will no longer provide all that, because they are know old enough to do it themselves. Because they can now know the difference between right and wrong, they are also old enough to be responsible for themselves.
And thus it has been for children ever since. By calling it a sin and laying it on generations throughout history people have pretty much destroyed what value the tale once had, the value it held by letting children know they are not the first to face the challenges adulthood presents.
Saying that Adam and Eve sinned when they ate of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge and good and evil, and applying that guilt to the generations that followed, is how some people have made other people think of themselves as worthless and in need of God’s beneficence. It was and remains a ploy to get people to accept authority without question. It is anti self responsibility, anti self reliance, and anti free will. It is a lie, and is one reason why I oppose those faiths that rely on it.
