Intellectual superiority – certainly not. It does give them a fuller experiential reference – been there, done that.
Old people who have left the 04330 zip code are apt to be a bit wiser than a young wise ass who beileves in nothing but milking the freedoms others earned FOR him. You must have had a VERY hard childhood. Adulthood doesn’t hold much more promise I am afraid. The apple did not fall far from the tree in your case, did it?
