I find the deaths of 20 people to be more offensive than the burning of any book.

No shit!
I find Islam offensive. Should I find and burn a couple dozen of it’s fanatics?
On Jerry Coyne’s blog yesterday I commented on this story thst millions of people all over the world bur Korans once a week. Throw in a few Old Testaments and New Testaments.
Bur = burn. Fat fingers on iPhone again.
The fact that relgious fanatics…islamic and christian…are to blame….the bible was written by man but the koran by god….man is so delusional…
Disregarding the cause of the violence for a moment.
At least the UN employees all knew damn well they were going to a dangerous place where they could lose their lives.
I find their deaths no more offensive than someone who decides to drive 100 miles an hour and ends up being part of a tree.
And lets all remember how the Christian’s of the world behaved when the US Army burned a couple hundred bibles.
Don’t remember that? Exactly. But speaking of Christians having some role in this, there’s plenty of Atheists out there doing the same thing, so who cares?

Nate, these murders simply reflect that Islamic extremists are more violent than Christian extremists. Why can’t you join the party here and agree?
I’m not that fussed about it, that’s all.
After all, it’s only murder. No big deal, right?
Only as big a deal as any murder is. I don’t see a real difference between killing someone because they burned your holy book and killing someone because you want to take their Nike’s.
There is a distinct difference. One is murder because of greed or some other human emotion which can and should be controlled by every individual human being. The other is murder caused by superstitious mandated belief which is endemic (if not pandemic) to extreimist in Islamic Religion. That type of murder is more difficult to control because they do so under the authority of God. There is no authrity to kill someone because you want their sneakers.
In both cases you have someone dead. That is the only simularity.
I don’t care to belittle one loss of life over another. Murder is murder, I don’t fret over the cause.
I feel just the same about murder with race or sexuality at its basis. There is little difference between killing someone over _______ or over _______. Insert whatever you want.
Murder is more vicious, delusional, perplexing, discouraging, uncontrollable, when it’s ordained by someone in a higher authority…a god!
You should fret over the cause…therein lies our ability to seek prevention.
Eh. Fewer people are killed on ‘God’s’ orders than from most other causes I would guess.
