Michael holds a BA in Biology with a minor in Philosophy. He likes to spend his free time hiking and defending science, though not usually at the same time. Contrary to popular (but not scientific) belief, the positive and appropriate perception of science is undermined by religion, alternative medicine, the U.S. education system, and most science journalists.

Just another day, just another cult.
No Christmas for you than? They even have Christmas in Japan and South Korea, even with the tiny number of Christians, and it’s extremely widespread among the _________. Whatever their biggest religious sect is. Buddhists maybe? I’m too lazy to look it up just now.
And the comic isn’t quite right, they took over the day, yes, but not the customs. You don’t see Christmas trees until the 16th century, just as an example. It was a great idea, but they didn’t just copy cat, they replaced one celebration with another, and some similar customs crept in over the centuries.
Happy Christmas all the same.
